When we learned that the elevator here in our home would be closed for repairs for up to two weeks, everyone became concerned about this issue. What can we do? How can we function? How will we overcome this obstacle? This was certainly an issue to be concerned about, especially during meal times when all the 2nd floor trays normally go up on the elevator. A lot of times when we face obstacles, we automatically think we must work harder as individuals. However, most of the time the answer lies not in how we perform individually, but how well we can work together as a team to overcome those obstacles. With teamwork and good planning all of the bases have been covered. From activities to programming, meals, and everything in between, we are working together to make sure our elders continue to feel at home. Check out some pictures of our “human assembly line” as we pass trays to second floor.
